Tori Barr grew up traveling back and forth between San Diego and Baja California. Her initial love for cooking was sparked by her Mexican heritage and the bounty of North American agriculture. After high school, she moved to the heart of Napa Valley to study literature with high hopes of moving on to law school. To pay for college, Tori stumbled into the wine industry, working in various tasting rooms such as Charles Krug, Inglenook, T-Vine, and Tank Garage, where she found her real passion: pairing food with wine.
Since then, she’s traveled all over the West Coast, visiting different regions in search of outstanding wines to create meals around - paying special attention to wines made by those in underrepresented communities. She now resides in Seattle and works as the Estate Chef at Bayernmoor Cellars. Tori also puts her four years of higher education to use as a food, wine, and travel writer for Sip Magazine.
